When does a spreadsheet need to become an app?

Usually when more than one person has to change it. A sheet works well as one person’s calculator. It struggles as the system several people update every day — orders, job cards, stock, site reports, approvals — because copies multiply over email and WhatsApp, a formula gets overwritten, and nobody can say who changed a figure or when. If any of these sound familiar, the sheet has become software without the safeguards:

What happens to our existing data and formulas?
