Why do production and stock numbers disagree?

Usually because material moves on the floor without moving in the system. Raw material is issued against a job that was never opened, work in progress sits between stages with no record, and rejections are scrapped without a note. By month-end the stock register and the store are telling two different stories, and nobody can say which is right.

This package ties those movements together. A multi-level BOM and routing define what a product is made of and the steps it passes through; work orders and job cards carry that onto the floor; raw material and WIP are tracked as they move between stages; and quality checks record what was rejected, and why.

What did this batch actually cost?

Costing and margin per batch builds the answer from the same records: the material issued, the steps performed and the rejections logged. Purchase sits in the same system, with vendor purchase orders and GRNs, so what was ordered and what actually arrived in stores are recorded side by side rather than in separate registers.

Our manufacturing builds keep batch traceability and inspection records for audit, so a finished batch can be followed back through its stages and checks. That matters on the day a customer asks which batch a rejected part came from, or an auditor asks to see the inspection record.

Do we have to give up Tally?

No. The package includes a sync to Tally or your finance ledger, so accounting stays where your accountant already works while production, purchase and stock move into the ERP. TallyPrime accepts vouchers over its XML interface, which is one route for this kind of sync; exactly what flows across, and how often, is written into the proposal.

The stack on the card is Odoo and Postgres, so the ERP is built on Odoo rather than written from nothing. Odoo comes in more than one edition, so which one fits your plant, and where the system will be hosted, is discussed on the scope call and settled in writing before work begins.

What is not included, and when is a rollout the better fit?

Payroll, GST returns and e-invoices are not part of this package; Payroll & Statutory Setup (₹12,000) and GST & E-Invoice Automation (₹30,000) cover them. Machine connections, sensors and other shop-floor hardware are not listed either and are scoped on the call, as is moving your existing item and BOM data.

If production itself is simple and the real problem is stock, purchase and discipline across several sites, ERP & Inventory Rollout (₹1,75,000, 3 months or more) may fit better: it leads with process mapping, master data, a warehouse hierarchy, phased go-live per site and 30 days of hypercare. Manufacturing ERP is the choice when BOMs, job cards and batch costing are the hard part.

FAQ

04
What does a manufacturing ERP cost?

Manufacturing ERP starts at ₹2,18,000 and takes 3 months or more. The products, BOM levels and routes you bring to the call are what the scope is written around, together with what your Tally or finance ledger should receive. Your fixed price arrives in writing after a 15-minute scope call.

Why does it take 3 months or more?

Because a manufacturing ERP is only useful once it matches your products, routes and costing, and those differ from plant to plant. The window for your plant is set out in the written proposal, and throughout the build you work directly with the founder, on a shared board, with a working demo on day one.

Can operators use it on the shop floor?

Yes. Work orders and job cards carry the plan onto the floor, and our manufacturing builds allow factory-floor access on shared devices without shared logins, so each entry is still tied to a person. Which devices you use, where they sit and who records what at each stage is settled on the scope call.

Does it handle job work sent to outside units?

Job work is not one of the listed items. If parts of your production go out to job workers and come back, raise it on the scope call, so it is designed and priced into the proposal rather than discovered halfway through the build.
