When is a strategy consultation worth paying for?

Usually just before a large spend. You are about to commission an ERP, a CRM or a custom app, or you already run several tools that don’t talk to each other and someone has proposed one more. At that point the questions are which problem to solve first, whether to buy software or build it, and what the whole plan will cost over a year.

The consultation is built around that decision. Two sessions map what you run today, test the options against your budget and your team, and leave you with a written plan that an owner, a partner or a vendor can read. If the honest answer is to buy an existing product rather than build one, the recommendation says so.

What do you walk away with?

The current-state audit comes first: which systems you run, which one holds the record for customers, stock or money, and where the same data is typed twice. From that, each need gets a build-or-buy recommendation with the reasoning written down, and the target architecture diagram shows how the pieces should fit together once the work is done.

The 12-month roadmap puts that work in order, because order matters: a CRM rolled out before the customer data is cleaned carries the mess into the new system. Alongside it sit a budget and team shape — what the plan is likely to cost and which roles it needs, in-house or outside — and a risk register that pairs each risk with a mitigation.

What is not included?

The consultation produces a plan, not software. Nothing is built, configured or migrated in the two sessions, and the budget in the roadmap is a planning figure rather than a quote: any build that follows is priced separately, in its own fixed written proposal. It is also not a code review. The current-state audit looks at your systems and how they connect, not at the quality of the code inside them.

If you are buying a company or inheriting a codebase and need the code itself examined, Technical Due Diligence (₹23,000, up to 7 days) is the package for it, covering architecture, code quality, tests and security red flags. If your problem is numbers that already disagree between systems, the Drift Audit (₹49,000, 2–3 weeks) traces where your records stop matching.

How is this different from Managed Support & Growth?

Strategy is a one-off engagement that looks forward: two sessions, a written plan, and then you decide what happens next. Managed Support & Growth (from ₹14,000) has the opposite shape — the founder on retained, agreed hours, fixing, patching and improving something already live, with a roadmap review and demo every month. If you already know what needs doing and want hands on an existing system, start there instead.

FAQ

04
What does a tech strategy consultation cost?

Tech Strategy Consultation starts at ₹3,000 and is delivered within 7 days, over two sessions. The price covers the review of what you run today and the written plan that comes out of it; any build the roadmap recommends is priced separately, in its own proposal. Your fixed price arrives in writing after a 15-minute scope call.

What should we prepare before the first session?

It helps to bring a list of the software you pay for or run, who uses each tool, and the two or three problems that made you look for help. Spreadsheets that hold important data count as systems too. Any quotes you already have from vendors are worth bringing, since the build-or-buy recommendation has to weigh real options.

Will you always recommend building custom software?

No. Build versus buy is one of the six deliverables, so the recommendation can be an off-the-shelf product, better use of something you already own, or a custom build. The reasoning is written down, so you can test it against any vendor’s proposal, including ours.

Does the roadmap include a budget?

Yes. Budget and team shape is one of the deliverables: a planning figure for what the roadmap is likely to cost and which roles it needs, in-house or outside. It is there to help you decide and sequence the work. It is not a fixed quote; each build is priced in its own written proposal.

Who is the consultation for?

Owners and operations heads who are about to make a large technology decision and want it on paper first. The package is most often built for manufacturing, healthcare, education and e-commerce businesses, where the choice of system shapes how orders, patients, students or stock are handled day to day.
