The details
02What is TradeX, exactly?
A trading terminal for practice. Each user gets an account funded with virtual money and places market, limit and stop orders at market prices; TradeX fills them itself, deducts modelled Indian charges and slippage, and keeps positions, profit and loss and a full order history. Nothing is sent to an exchange or a broker, and no real money moves. The screen says so: a “Virtual trading · No real money” notice stays visible in every layout.
Around the orders sit the tools people practise with: candlestick and other chart types with indicators and drawing tools, watchlists, a portfolio view, price alerts and trade analytics. TradeX is a web app, built in React with a Node server. It works in a phone or desktop browser and can be installed to the home screen; it is not a native Android or iPhone app. It suits a business that wants its clients, students or subscribers practising on an app under its own name.
Where do the prices come from?
In the demo, Indian shares, the NIFTY 50, NIFTY BANK and SENSEX indices and forex pairs are priced from Yahoo Finance’s free public data. That data is unlicensed and can be delayed, so TradeX does not call its prices real-time. Crypto prices come from Binance’s public market-data API. Stock order books and option chains are simulated, and the screen labels them SIM.
A public launch should use a licensed feed for Indian markets. The code has adapters for broker data feeds from Zerodha (Kite Connect) and Angel One (SmartAPI), which need your own account with that broker, and for Kite Connect a paid subscription. Which feed your version uses, whether its terms allow showing the data to your users, and who pays for it are settled on the scope call and written into the proposal.
Does TradeX place real trades?
No. Orders are simulated: TradeX does not connect to a broker, route orders to an exchange or hold anyone’s money. If your plan needs real orders through a broker’s trading API, that is a separate build on top of TradeX, scoped and priced in writing after the scope call, and real-money trading brings obligations for your business that a practice app does not.
The product does not give your business any registration or licence. What your business needs from market regulators depends on what you offer, and is for you and your advisers.
Should you buy or rent TradeX?
Buying, at ₹1,49,000, gives you the source code and a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to run and change the app — useful if your own engineers will extend it, or a partner will want to review the code before relying on it. Renting, at ₹24,999 a month, spreads the cost while the number of users is still small. Either way, the app carries your logo, colours and domain.
If the app you have in mind shares little with paper trading, charts, watchlists and alerts, starting from TradeX saves you little. A custom build through our Mobile App (MVP) package, from ₹1,25,000 and up to 3 months, with Android and iOS from one codebase, is the better starting point then.

FAQ
04What does TradeX cost?
TradeX costs ₹1,49,000 to buy — one payment, with the full source code — or ₹24,999 a month to rent. Work built on top for your business, such as a licensed data feed or a payment system, is quoted separately, and a data feed’s own subscription is billed by its provider. Your fixed price arrives in writing after a 15-minute scope call.
Can I see TradeX before paying?
Yes. The live demo is at tradeview.makinforu.com, still under its working name, TradeDesk. It asks you to create an account, then gives you virtual money to trade with. On the scope call we go through what your version needs on top and which model fits — buy, rent, white-label or customise — and the fixed price follows in writing.
Is the market data real-time?
Not for Indian shares, indices or forex. In the demo those prices come from Yahoo Finance’s free public data, which is unlicensed and can be delayed; crypto prices come from Binance’s public API. A licensed feed for Indian markets can be connected for your version. Which one, what it covers and what it costs are settled on the scope call, before the proposal is written.
Is TradeX SEBI-compliant?
TradeX is a practice app: it handles no real money and places no real orders, and it gives your business no registration or licence. What your business needs from SEBI or any other regulator depends on what you offer, and is for you and your advisers. Raise your regulatory requirements on the scope call so any features they need are scoped and priced before you commit.
Can we charge our users for the app?
Not with TradeX as it stands: it has no payment gateway, subscriptions or invoicing built in. If you want to charge your users, for example a monthly subscription, the payment side is built on top through the Customise model and priced in writing after the scope call.
