The details
02What is a Tally MCP server, and is this one?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard for connecting AI assistants such as Claude to outside tools and data. A Tally MCP server would sit between TallyPrime and that assistant, letting it look up ledgers and vouchers when you ask a question inside the assistant’s own app.
This package reaches the same goal, answers from your own books, by a different route. Your team asks on WhatsApp or a web chat, and the assistant answers from a read-only export of your books. If you specifically want your own Claude or ChatGPT to query that export over MCP, raise it on the scope call: it is scoped there, not assumed.
Why is every answer cited to a voucher?
An assistant that is confidently wrong about a receivable is worse than no assistant. So every answer points to the vouchers and ledgers it was drawn from, and your accountant can open those entries in Tally and check. When a question needs data the export does not contain, the assistant refuses rather than filling the gap with a guess.
A usage log records what was asked and what came back, and the package includes a monthly review of it with you: which questions came up most, which were refused, and whether the export should cover more of your books. Refusals are worth reading closely: each one is a question your team has that the export cannot yet answer.
Is our accounting data safe with an AI model?
The assistant works from a read-only export, so it has no way to post, alter or delete entries in TallyPrime. That removes the worst failure, an AI changing your books, but it does not settle everything. Answering a question means sending the question and the relevant figures to a language-model API, and that deserves a deliberate decision.
On the scope call we agree which companies and ledgers go into the export, which language-model provider is used and who should have access to the chat. Those choices go into the written proposal before anything is built, so there are no surprises later about where your data goes.
When is a dashboard or a larger AI build the better fit?
If the same handful of questions gets asked every morning, a dashboard answers them before anyone types: the Tally → Power BI Dashboard at ₹15,000 covers sales, receivables, stock and P&L. If the questions reach beyond Tally into contracts, policies and other documents, the Enterprise RAG Knowledge Assistant at ₹1,75,000 is built for that.
This assistant answers; it does not act. Chasing a debtor or raising an entry from an answer is a different kind of build, AI Agent Workflows at ₹85,000, with approval gates for risky actions. Posting data into Tally from other systems is Tally Integration & Automation at ₹12,000.

FAQ
04What does the Tally AI Assistant cost?
The Tally AI Assistant starts at ₹22,000 and is delivered within 30 days. The language-model API behind it is billed by its provider according to usage, and what your question volume means for that is covered on the call. Your fixed price arrives in writing after a 15-minute scope call.
What kind of questions can it answer?
Questions your books can answer: which customers have owed you money the longest, how much of an item is in stock, what margin a product line made last quarter. You can ask in plain English or Hindi. Each answer cites its vouchers and ledgers, and questions the export cannot answer are refused, not guessed.
Do we need our own Claude or ChatGPT subscription?
Not for the package as listed. Your team uses WhatsApp or a web chat, and the assistant calls a language-model API behind it. Connecting your own Claude or ChatGPT to the same read-only data through an MCP server is a different set-up, and it is scoped on the call if you want it.
Which Tally companies and years does it cover?
Whatever the export includes, and that is agreed on the scope call and written into the proposal. The assistant only knows what is in the export. If a question needs a company or a year that was left out, it tells you it does not have the data instead of answering anyway.
Should we choose WhatsApp or a web chat?
WhatsApp suits owners and managers who want a quick answer between meetings; a web chat suits an accounts team working at desks. The package includes a WhatsApp or web chat interface, and we settle which suits you on the scope call, based on who will ask the most questions.
